Support For Agriculture. Much More To Be Done.

After a tough year in 2019, our farmers and ag producers have been hit hard by COVID-19. The Government announced its plan for the agriculture sector this week, but there is obviously much more to be done. Thanks to Bruce Wylie and 104.9 JRFM for the conversation today.

Letter Sent to Minister Hajdu Regarding CF Life-Saving Drugs Trikafta

Effective medications for Cystic Fibrosis have been developed, but Canadians’ access to these treatments is limited at best. I joined members of the House of Commons from across Canada urging Minister Hajdu to ensure that Canadians have access to life-saving CF drugs like Trikafta.

Local business needs an immediate injection of cash.

May 1st rent is coming due for businesses and a loan of $40,000 (if they qualified) won’t pay the bills for March, April, May, and beyond. The wage subsidy helps (if they qualified and) if their business hasn’t been shut down.

Thanks to the Brockville & District Chamber of Commerce and the 1000 Islands Gananoque Chamber of Commerce for giving your members a platform to share their concerns and ideas with me.

Radio Interview on CEWS and CEBA

Workers need wages and entrepreneurs need cash now! The government must:

Allow small business operators to get the CEWS directly from local financial institutions this week.
Make the CEBA funds accessible to more businesses.

I spoke with Bruce Wylie at 104.9 JRFM about getting funds to businesses now.
