Earlier on this month, we celebrated HFI Pyrotechnics Inc. and the recent agreement with the federal government that they are now part of Canada’s Munitions Supply Program (MSP) - a much deserved designation. They are the first company added to the MSP in 40 years! This adds jobs and helps boost the local economy in Prescott! The late MP Gord Brown would be very pleased to see HFI Pyrotechnics Inc. obtain inclusion in the MSP supply chain as he was one of the first to initially advocate their cause. I and MPP Steve Clark presented congratulatory scrolls to mark this momentous occasion. Mayor Pat Sayeau was also attending.August 07, 2020
A major mistake was made. Who will be held accountable?
Today, Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands held a key ceremony in Cardinal. I was honoured to be present and would like to thank and acknowledge Pam Little, Chair of the Board for HTI, and the many volunteers who gave (and continue giving) their time and labour so residents, like Josh Young and children Emmett & Isabella, can have a home within our communities. 🔨🧱🏡July 31, 2020

Enjoyed dropping by local businesses in The Corporation of the Township of Front of Yonge with Mayor Roger Haley this past week - from touring Maple Leaf Campground with owner Adrian, learning from Phil about the BUSL Cider collection (Cheers!), visiting Mallorytown Pharmacy & Health Centre for a discussion with owner Mature Vadher, to finally stopping by Purcell's Freshmart which is a cornerstone of the community with over 32 years in business! Many thanks to Mayor Herb Scott for the opportunity to visit and hear from businesses in the Township of Athens. Started off chatting with John and Joanne from JJ's Country Diner; discussed the importance of local pharmacies at Athens Pharmasave Pharmacy with Alfred; met the new owners of Athens Peacock Restaurant, Alysha and Nathan; and visited Athens Hardware. We also had the chance to catch up with Ashlyn, a Canada Summer Jobs Student and manager at the Athens and Area Heritage Museum, and Sally from the Mural. Please remember to SupportLocalJuly 18, 2020
The beautiful 1000 Islands region has spectacular sights that attract people from all over the world. I had the pleasure of speaking with Dave Kouri, owner of 1000 Islands Helicopter Tours and Amy Kirkland from the 1000 Islands Gananoque Chamber of Commerce about local tourism - and the challenges and opportunities in the tourism sector. Piloted by Bill Fox, I took a first-hand look at paradise from the sky along with Canada Summer Job students Paige Lux and Kiana Bachelder! 🚁 #SupportLocalJuly 17, 2020
