Liberals block consequences for WE Scandal coverup at Ethics Committee

Ottawa, ON – Michael Barrett, Conservative Shadow Minister for Ethics, and Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lévis—Lotbinière, released the following statement on the Liberals blocking a motion that would hold them accountable for their cover-up at the Ethics Committee:
 
“Today at the Ethics Committee, the Liberals are continuing to avoid consequences for their cover-up of Justin Trudeau’s WE scandal.

“Last month, the Liberals defied an order from Parliament and blocked key players in Justin Trudeau’s WE scandal from testifying at the Ethics Committee. The Liberals need to be held accountable for these actions and their cover-up of corruption.
 
“The weeks-long coverup at the Ethics Committee by the Trudeau Liberals shows the lengths that Liberals will go to avoid accountability and hide the truth from Canadians. 
 
“Conservatives will continue to fight for accountability from the Trudeau Liberals and demand an end to the cover-up of corruption.”
