Conservatives reject Liberal plan to continue cover-up

Ottawa, ON – Michael Barrett, Conservative Shadow Minister for Ethics, and Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière—Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, released the following statement on the Liberal’s plan to continue the WE scandal cover-up at the Ethics Committee:
 
“Today, the Liberals attempted to continue their cover-up of Justin Trudeau’s WE scandal at the Ethics Committee. Conservatives firmly reject this attempt by the Trudeau Liberals to hide the truth from Canadians.
 
“The motion, passed by a majority of Parliamentarians, clearly calls for the key players – or Justin Trudeau – to testify on the Liberal’s WE scandal and the cover-up of sexual misconduct in the Canadian Armed Forces. By failing to testify, the Trudeau Liberals are repeatedly devaluing and disrespecting Canada’s democracy.
 
“This charade by the Trudeau Liberals needs to end. Canadians deserve answers. The key players – or Justin Trudeau – must testify on the Liberal government’s scandals. Anything less is unacceptable.”
